The War and the Media

I have decided to boycott CNN. In my opinion they are bordering treason. They feel that because of the UNITED STATES constitution, that they somehow have freedom of the press in all areas of the world. So they choose to go where our military goes and report on every little mistake made and try and present our soldiers as murderers. Take a good look at any controversial article in the news today. Lets look at Haditha and the controversy there. It was started by allegations made by a reporter. These damn media jerks are getting in the way of war. War is freakin ugly. It is not supposed to be pretty or politically correct, that's why it's war. To have the media with their freakin nose stuck in all of our business, sharp shooting every little move we make only serves to weaken our military. It forces our commanders and soldiers to try and fight a "nice" war or to be politically correct. The slander the media throws out there by interviewing the families of terrorists as poor little victims while displaying our soldiers as cold hearted murders only increases the desire within those who might be thinking of killing Americans. Know this - The Geneva and Hague Conventions do not provide any provisions or safe haven for terrorists. We do not have to give them JACK! All we owe them sorry bastards is a bullet to the freakin face! I'm sick of the media trying to force us to operate under agreements provided for honorable soldiers when terrorists are out there cutting off the heads of civilian contractors and soldiers, or using hidden bombs to blow us up. The fact that we have to be nice while involved in a war against a verb (Terrorism) really pisses me off. Some really good friends of mine are dead because we can't bring our full power and might to bear against these slimy little bastards because we have the media following us around searching for reasons to get our country in an uproar about every little thing we do. GO HOME and report on the weather or something. This trend is forcing us to follow and operate by rules that favor the enemy. When the rules favor the enemy, CHANGE THEM!!

The war against a verb

The following is something that I received in an email. I believe that it deserves some thought and consideration. It is a fair assessment of how we try to be politically correct in the midst of complete chaos. It is a glimpse of common sense, a virtue that our government and military have deemed contraband in modern times.

“WHAT'S ALL OF THE FUSS?" Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it notStarted by Islamic people who brought it to our shores onSeptember 11, 2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutallyMurdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac fromOur nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania? Did nearly three Thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing Death that day, or didn't they? And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" When an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet? Well,I don't. I don't care at all. I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11. I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start Caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime In Saudi Arabia. I'll care when Abu Musab al-Zarqawi tells the world he is sorry for Hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his Gurgling, slashed throat. I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by Hiding in mosques. I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in Search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range Of their suicide bombs. I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law Instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights. In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave Marine Roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care. When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, Rest assured that I don't care. When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is Told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can Take it to the bank that I don't care. When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a Prayer mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax Dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," You can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts that I don't care And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and---- you got it, I DON'T CARE! If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your Friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this Ridiculous behavior! If you don't agree, then by all means disregard it. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims Happen here in our great country.”



We are fighting a war against an idea, a set belief system. When someone is willing to blow him or herself up for what they believe in, I don’t think we can change their mind. When war is declared, your only option is absolute victory. How can you win or even successfully fight a war against a verb? Now we have gone and stirred up the hornet’s nest. If we pull out and come home, it will follow us back and we will have to deal with this on our own streets. We have done great things in both Afghanistan and Iraq. But we have suffered horrible tragedies as well. As a soldier I felt I was trying to fight a war while flex cuffed. Policy and procedure are dirty words as far as I’m concerned when it comes to war. War is ugly. War is not fair; it is War. What happens in war does not belong in America’s living room. Media has become a huge influence in our military’s leadership and the way in which they choose to fight it. It has turned our military into a slow and cumbersome machine. While we have to get it right every time we go out the gate, the terrorist only has to get lucky once. It’s an uphill battle. Pray.
